What was the reason you wanted to braid your hair?
I wanted to grow my hair.
What were your first thoughts/fears about getting braids?
I don’t think I had any fears…except the awkward interaction with people who want to touch our hair or remark at how fast it grew out. I remember getting braids as a girl in middle school when at that age you want to fit in with everyone and I couldn’t put my hair in a long bouncy ponytail.
What was your experience with Hair by Karyne?
I LOVE KARYNE’S WORK! I will admit that I have considered trying cheaper stylists but the passion and thoughtfulness that Karyne puts into her work are worth every penny.
What is/was your favorite protective style?
My favorite style is either a ponytail or top knot.
What kind of reactions do you get from people when they see your protective styles done by Hair by Karyne?
I get complimented on my hair a lot, it’s become my signature look and I tend to hand out referrals without even being asked.
Since getting your hair done by Karyne, how has your hair benefited?
I have been on this journey to retain length for over a year and really started seeing results once I committed to keeping my hair in braids. Since working with Karyne, I haven’t experienced any breakage, damage, or thinning in my hair.
